Check whether the event uses a public stage, a host-managed queue or private rooms. For a room booking, confirm the capacity, session length and total charge. For an open event, ask how you submit a song and whether guests can sing together. Tell your group which format you booked so people know what to expect.

Pick a song you know well enough to enjoy singing. A willing friend can join if the host allows it. Friends who prefer to watch can stay in the audience. Follow the queue, give the microphone to the next singer when your turn ends and ask the host before changing a song or adding another person.
Listen while other guests sing and keep comments about their performance to yourself. Join a chorus when the singer or host welcomes it. The host needs space to manage equipment and the order of performers. If the queue is long, treat your place as one part of the evening and spend the waiting time with your friends.
